VPS (Virtual Private Server) technology is a premium service that splits a server into multiple virtual dedicated servers. The technologies that implement VPS are divided into container technology and virtualization technology. In a container or virtual machine, each VPS can be assigned a separate public IP address, a separate operating system, and isolation of disk space, memory, CPU resources, processes, and system configurations between VPSs, simulating an “exclusive” computing resource experience for users and applications. You can reinstall the operating system, install programs, and restart the server separately.
Cloud Server
Elastic Compute Service, or ECS for short. Many people understand cloud servers to be the same as VPS; some even say that the former VPS is now called a cloud server. The cloud server is a combination of computing, networking, and storage. Simply put, it combines computing and storage pools and networks composed of multiple CPUs, memory, and hard drives.
Virtual Hosting
It uses network space technology to divide a server into many “virtual” hosts using space technology; each network space has an independent domain name and IP address, with full Internet server functions. Each web space has a separate domain name and IP address and has the full functionality of an Internet server. The web spaces are independent, each the same as a different host.
Cloud Server and Web Hosting
1, the cornerstones of the two technologies are very similar, with the cloud server’s administrative privileges on its own and the web host on the management side.
2, cloud servers can share resources between them; web hosts can not.
3, cloud servers can be manipulated to install software and increase or decrease the space at will without shutting down; web hosting can not.
4, cloud servers have independent IP addresses; most web hosts do not and generally need to choose value-added.
Cloud server and VPS
VPS and cloud servers are similar in more ways than one; the main difference is the configuration level and security stability
1, the cloud server is the upgrade version of VPS.
2, cloud servers can share resources between them; VPS is unavailable.
3, VPS is a virtual server; it is a part of the server. It is divided out of the resources built from the independent memory, hard disk, and bandwidth; it also has a separate IP, in function and use of precisely the same as the server. In contrast, the cloud server is a cluster of servers divided out of several similar independent host parts, each host in the collection has a mirror of the cloud server, thus improving the performance and security of the cloud server. The only difference is that cloud server are more secure and stable.
The only difference is that cloud server are more secure and stable. If we sort by performance, it should be: cloud hosting is better than VPS is better than web hosting.
Cloud servers, web hosting, and VPS are all space products. Web hosting is the first primary space product developed, and VPS is a better configured virtual space with an independent IP address derived from web hosting. Cloud servers and VPS are the most similar, also based on web hosting, and more powerful than VPS in terms of performance.
